Our favourite Met 2022 Looks

The met 2022

The biggest celebrity night out is done & dusted for another year! The Met Gala 2022, also known as the ‘First Monday in May’ took place just last week, and we were certainly not disappointed with what we saw. From Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe’s iconic ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’ dress to Austin Butler and Kai Gerber making their first red carpet couple debut, things were heating up at this year’s Met.

Blake livery is the epitome of natural beauty! Our favourite thing about Blake is that she strictly adheres to the theme every Met Gala. Love. An. Adhering. Queen.

Blake stunned, once again with the two-in-one floor-length Versace dress that transformed her into a real-life lady liberty! The first part of her gown was fixed with a crystal-covered geometric bodice and a rose gold train wrapped around her waist, finished with rose gold satin gloves. Once getting halfway up the stairs, Blake was unwrapped (quite literally) and, a turquoise blue skirt that was attached to her bodice was revealed. Her satin gloves were also removed and underneath were turquoise matching coloured full-length gloves!

Blake continued to adhere to the ‘Guilded Glamour’ theme and stepped out to the Met Gala afterparty in a gorgeous red corset mini, fitted with black beads. We just love her!

No one loves an iconic look more than Kim Karashian. So it’s only fitting that she had jaws dropped when she showed up to the Met in the exact dress that the one and only Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang Happy Birthday, Mr. President’.

Kim completely transformed herself to replicate Monroe, bleaching her naturally dark hair to a platinum-blonde and slicking it back into a bun. She finished the look off with a white fur shawl, just like Monroe did, and simple drop diamond earrings. GORG!

Kim didnd’t attend the official Met Afterparty, but she did have a party of her own with BF Pete Davidson at her hotel with pizza and donuts, which was well deserved a she was on a strict no carb diet for 3 weeks leading up to the Met to be able to fit into Marilyn’s dress.  She later stepped out in a long brown fur coat, black wide-leg sweats, and a fitted black T-shirt to head to the airport to get back to LA. Style icon!

Bella Hadid Met 2022

Bella Hadid returned to The Met Gala after being absent last year, and boy did she come back with a bang! Bella worked alongside Burberry this year, and added her own spin on ‘Guilded Glamour’. Tying in her signature ‘It Girl’ style, Bella wore a leather corset bodysuit that was studded with silver hooks down both sides of her waist. Lace detailing was a strong statement in her look, which was a signature fashion element of the Gilded Age.

Her makeup reflected the theme perfectly, with her hair curled into two tendrils hanging over her shoulders with half of it clipped up, finished with two braids that draped in a middle part over her forehead. Her makeup was simple and clean, with a hint of red blush which was defining element of historical beauty looks.

Her afterparty look was certainly striking. She turned heads by stepping out in a full Burberry lingerie ensemble, finished with beaded pasties, an open corset top, and a sheer skirt. If anyone can pull off dark goth, it’s our girl Bella!

Addison’s head-turning Michael Kors disco gown shimmered, featuring a high neck, open back, and cwasovered in silver sequences with a high slit. She accessorised her look with an oversized pair of hoop earrings and large statement rings. She definitely did adhere to this year’s Guilded Glamour theme, opting for her makeup to reflect a modern-day Cher to tie in with her glamorous look. We also can’t forget the stunning metallic nails! What a statement.

Addison rocked a barely-there look for the Met Afterparty, showing up with a sheer open front dress with a long train. She accessorised her party look with a metallic clutch held under her arm, and metallic cuffs. Go addi!

The one and only, miss Hailey Bieber has done it again! And this time, killed it SOLO she walked the red carpet without hubby Justin, for what she said would be a ‘girls’ night out’.

Showing up in her finest form of ‘Minimalist Beauty’, she flaunted a gorgeous floor-length Yves Saint Laurent silk gown that featured a dramatic slit over the top of her black sheer stockings. She finished her look with her signature ‘Glazed Donut Skin’, and a slicked-back high bun.

Her Met after-party look saw her decked out in Saint Laurent with an oversized black blazer, rhinestone-encrusted logo chain bra, and black leather short shorts. She finished off her look with unreleased YSL sleek sunglasses and red strappy heels that stood out amongst her all-black ensemble. HOT!

Queen of bold looks, Vanessa Hudgens, graced the red carpet in a floor-lengthed sheer Mochino gown, and bold and dark makeup and hair to tie her look of ‘Gilded Glamour’ together.

The striking Mochino gown featured puff sleeves and lace detailing across her chest. She paired the gown with black high pumps and lace black underwear. Vanessa’s hair was definitely the highlight of the look, slicked back into a high intricate braided bun, the hairstyle depicted the perfect combonation of witchy and gothic Guilded Glamour.

Her afterparty look was nothing short of amazing, Vanessa rocked a mini skirt, silver fringe top, combat boots and a blazer with MOSCHINO embroided on the back. If there’s someone who can pull off BOLD, it’s V!

The gorgeous Olivia Rodrigo was giving off major fairy-core vibes, showing up in a floor-length sparkling Versace gown that featured a high thigh length slit, a draped neckline, and off-the-shoulder petite sleeves. Her purple smokey makeup tied in with her purple ensemble, and her butterfly hair clips tied in with her fairy-esque look.

For the Met afterparty, Miss Rodrigo switched from purple to pink and stepped out wearing a pink tweed cut-out mini dress with black platform heels. She styled her hair back in two piggy tail braids, which added a hint of sweet girl vibes to her punk look.

One word! STUNNING! Our girl Cardi B really showed up this Met, wearing custom Versace which was made from a full mile of golden metal chains which took 20 members 1,300 hours to hand stitch onto the gown. The dazzling fit had her quite literally ‘dripping in gold’ – she even had her neckline and arms stacked up.

Cardi swapped out of her gold ensemble into a black and gold halter neck Versace gown. QUEEN!

One thing we appreciate from miss Kendall Jenner at this year’s Met is that she did not play it safe. Sporting her signature brown glossy locks, she rocked up with bleached brows which looked AMAZING with her custom black tulle Prada top with a net embroidered overlay. She paired it with a voluminous black silk-satin skirt with hand-pleated ruched details, and she absolutely killed it!

Her afterparty look had us swooning! Giving off ultimate it-girl vibes, she wore a completely see-through black lace Miu Miu co-ord set consisting of a spaghetti strap lace sheer top with a matching low-waist midi skirt. Underneath the ensemble, she wore a rose gold bustier and mid-rise underwear set. Finishing her look with diamond drop earrings, a black clutch, and strappy heels, this was definitely one of our favourite after-party looks!
