HOW TO: Textured Knot

Spring Racing Texture Knot

If you can’t make it into salon for your special event styling not to worry we have some guidance to share on that perfect formal look. Oscar Oscar Robina teach us how to create an effortless upstyle that can easily be mastered even with the most basic level of styling skills at home (Or request some kind efforts from a friend!).

Step 1:

Spray the hair with Aveda Texture Tonic. Then give the hair a blast dry with a hairdryer.

Step 2:

Starting from the face take approx. 1inch sized sections using the GHD Curve® Soft Curl Tong place the tong vertically at the root of the hair and rotate it 180 degrees away from the face. Allow it to heat 3-5 seconds and then allowing the hair to slip out whilst sliding it down the section of hair creating a twist. Repeating this the whole way down the hair section. Repeat this process working from the front to the back of the head.

TIP: For thick hair use sectioning clips to assist with separating the hair.

Step 3:

Spray hair with Aveda Air Control. Ensure curls are completely cool before proceeding to ensure longevity. With a wide tooth comb brush out the hair starting from the ends and finishing at the roots.

Step 4:

At the back of the head split the hair down the middle into two sections. Tie the two sections together into a knot at the nape of the neck and secure with bobby pins. Then repeat for the remaining ends into a second knot under the previous. Secure in place also with flyways with bobby pins. Lightly spray all over with Aveda Air Control.

Step 5:

Gently pull out a few tendrils around the face frame to create a soft finish. Lastly, add a hair accessory of choice to complete your look. We used Sheike Lulu Lace Fascinator in Ivory.
